Frustrated

It's dark in here with all the others. My owner, the percussionist chooses to keep us in an old wooden suitcase, which has been my home since I can remember. Waiting here in the dark to be used is very frustrating, to say the least.
But, it gives me time to reflect on the wonderful memories of adding color, if only for a few fleeting moments and life outside this prison. I miss being struck and reverberating out my special sound, that only I can produce. A sound that is so distinct and so uniquely my own.
When I am struck and used in a musical composition, I am at my happiest, for I am fulfilling my dream to be part of the ensemble. I am a special percussion instrument. I love to vibrate, to resonate, if only for a short time and make my unique sound be heard.
I am only used sparingly, but when my time comes I shine like a mighty warrior in the midst of a glorious battle wielding his sword in victory. For I am a Vibra-slap.
